Group Psychotherapy

How can group therapy be beneficial for me?

If you haven't - it can be a pretty powerful experience.  Not only do you have the guidance from your therapist, but you have supportive and insightful feedback from members. Many people experienced an increased sense of support from the members in the group.

What could I expect?

Group expectations are always outlined to maintain healthy boundaries between group participants.  Participants are psycho-educated on topics and people to take turns speaking.

What does the psychologist do?

The facilitator provides ongoing feedback and insight is consistently promoted. The goal is to encourage  problem solving skills and self-growth.

What if I am sort of shy or introverted?

That is okay. In fact, group psychotherapy can be really helpful for folks who are feeling more on the shy side. A group setting can a really helpful to improve your on assertiveness skills.

Where does the group psychotherapy take place?

It will be conducted via telehealth (online). Participants are asked to be in a private room to protect everyone's confidentiality. I can further explain how to maximize a great telehealth experience  at the comfort of your own home!

How could I start?

You may call me so that I can explain to you about how this process works. A first meeting clinical intake is required to be able to understand your current concerns. We also have a discussion about whether the group would fit your needs!
